Impacts, Implications and A Path Forward

The transition from LIBOR to SOFR took place at the end of 2021, but many market participants remain unclear about the level of risk that converting existing contracts might pose, and are unsure about engaging new business with recommended replacement rates.

David Watson serves as a Manager Director in Global Services for JPMorgan Chase Commercial Banking with responsibility for the LIBOR Transition Program.  Since 2012 David has also been a member of the firm’s Employee Plans Investment Committee (EPIC), which oversees the Firm’s 401(k) Savings Plan and has participated in the firm’s Ambassador Program since its inception.

He has been with JPMorgan Chase for 31 years in a variety of line, risk and project-related positions.  Prior roles have been in Regulatory Operations, Business Transformation and Community Development Banking, where he served as Chief Risk Officer with responsibility for all risk functions within the Community Development Real Estate Lending, Intermediaries Lending and New Markets Tax Credit businesses.  Prior to JPMorgan Chase, David held commercial/industrial and real estate lending and risk positions at regional banks in New England.  

David has been active in the community as the recent Chairman of the Statewide Advisory Committee of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation and the Connecticut Children’s Investment Partnership.  He also is the past Board President of two Bridgeport, CT-based organizations - Optimus Healthcare, Inc. and Community Capital Fund Inc. - and is a past Trustee of the National Housing Conference in Washington, D.C. 

He holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from Drew University and an MBA in Finance from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University.  David lives in Connecticut with his wife Carol and has two grown children.

Brian is a leader in treasury transformations and the application of technology across finance and treasury to achieve innovative and positive business results.  Brian has led finance and treasury process transformations across treasury management and EPRs, applying technology and innovative solutions to help MNCs and small start-ups, both. Brian is currently Senior Director of Strategic Marketing at Kyriba. Prior to Kyriba, Brian has worked in Treasury, IT and consulting at Intel, Nike, Mentor Graphics and Deloitte. Brian is a Certified Treasury Professional.
